Dimraeth Mage Builds — Human, Elf & Minotaur
The Mage — also written "Magician" — is Dimraeth’s spell class. You equip 5 spells at a time and match elements to enemy weaknesses. Here is how to build each of the three live Mage archetypes, with launch-meta placement for each.
How Mage Plays
Mage output runs through the 5-slot spell loadout and elemental matchups: hitting an enemy’s weak element matters more than raw spell volume. Stamina still governs your survival, so casters trade mobility for damage — positioning is the skill that separates Mage builds.
The 3 Mage Archetypes
| Archetype | Tier | Build direction |
|---|---|---|
| Human Mage | S | Generalist caster with broad elemental coverage across the 5 slots. The most forgiving spell setup in the launch build. |
| Elf Mage | A | Casting-focused with positioning tools — strongest at range, weaker if enemies close the gap. |
| Minotaur Mage | B | Durable caster that trades raw output for survivability while casting; slow to reposition. |
Spell Loadout
- Build around one damage element plus one utility slot — spreading elements thins your output.
- Match your main element to the region you are farming: Act 1 regions each favour different weaknesses.
- Keep one defensive or escape utility for when enemies close in — Mage has no parry answer of its own.
Gear Priorities
- As with all classes, rarity tier beats raw numbers — upgrade tier before slot (see armors).
- Elf Mage wants cast-friendly positioning gear; Minotaur Mage wants survivability to offset slow repositioning.
- Base upgrades (farms, quarries, crafting stations) feed the gear loop for the whole campaign.
Leveling & Early Game
Commit to the Mage archetype tree early — the tree is per race × class pairing, not per class. With the level cap at 25, early progression is about the spell pool and gear more than levels (see endgame).
Mage FAQ
What is the best Mage build?
Human Mage is the S-tier generalist — broad elemental coverage and the most forgiving loadout. Elf Mage is the pick if you want to stay at range; Minotaur Mage if you prefer survivability.
Mage or Brawler first?
Both Human archetypes are S-tier. Pick Mage if you want spellcasting and elemental setups, Brawler if you want melee parries and stamina pressure.
