• The game is built by a ~10-person Puerto Rico-based studio that self-publishes — small teams doing handcrafted pixel art is the norm.
• No AI-related credits, announcements or studio statements have surfaced in official channels.
• The Latin American Games Showcase feature and 60K-player demo predate the AI discussion.

The AI-Dialogue Controversy

Whatever the studio did, the perception is real and measurable. The review-analytics site VaporLens (updated Sep 16, 2026) ranks "AI-Generated Dialogue" as the single largest churn driver for Dimraeth — 29.3% of churn risk and 25.9% of all tagged issues, with "AI Dialogue And Astroturfing" adding another 3.7%.

• Negative Steam reviews quoted by gamebrain.co call the writing "heavily AI-generated", "reeks of bad AI" and "AI slop".
• One detailed negative review claims the developers admitted on Discord to "using AI as a tool" and saw no need to disclose it, and says the reviewer reported the Steam page. We could not verify the Discord statement — treat it as a secondhand claim.
• Press coverage (VGtimes, Sep 16) focuses on the weak writing and AI-sounding Russian localization rather than the controversy itself.
